Ann Lander’s Meat Loaf

When did she become part of the family??? Mother gave me this recipe.

Ingredients
  • 2 lb ground round steak
  • 1 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp Accent
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water (warm)
  • 2 strips of bacon
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
Instructions
  1. Beat thoroughly. Put in loaf pan, cover with 2 strips of bacon.
  2. Pour over all, one 8-oz can tomato sauce.
  3. Bake one hour at 350°.
Recipe Notes

I usually shape meat loaf in a loaf pan, then turn out onto a cooking rack or broiler pan to bake, so the excess grease can drip down rather than be absorbed into the meat loaf.
