Broccoli Salad

This was served by a friend at a church covered dish supper. I enjoyed it on several occasions before I finally got around to ask for the recipe. I like the combination of salty/smoky, sweet, and tangy.

Ingredients
  • 1 bunch broccoli (broken or cut into small pieces)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 lb crisply fried bacon (crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup Miracle Whip
  • 1/3 cup sugar
Instructions
  1. Fry the bacon until crisp, cool on paper towels, and crumble.
  2. Break down the head of broccoli into small pieces and chop the onion.
  3. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and let it sit for a while, or an hour or so in the fridge, so the flavors come together. Serve cold.
